As you know, I'm a huge-huge-huge fan of Aliens. And once in a while I draw something Aliens-themed.

This time I decided to go with a speedpaint practice on lighting and detail focus, something I have problems with (due to the tendency to detail evenly and not using it as a focus device)

I'ts actually first of my fully-finished and colored Alien works. I used the Sideshow resin replica sculpts as references, and before you start asking why is there a skull in the aliens head, this is how it goes - in the original "Alien" film maquettes and design, the upper half of the aliens "skull" is slightly transparent, and through it one might see it's strangely shaped, half-humanoid skull with no eyes.
I stuck to that design.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this work)
